Svitch CSR 762

The CSR 762 is the first electric motorcycle from Svitch, which has built a name for e-bike sales. The Gujarat-based electric car maker has a soft launch for the CSR 762 in November 2021, but the electric bike is yet to hit the roads. Hero Electric has unveiled its first electric motorcycle called the AE-47 at the Auto Expo 2020. The bike is compact like the Revolt RV400 but gets a neo-retro design. It gets many features like USB charger, cruise control, 2 driving modes, walk and reverse assist, geo-fencing, GPS, SIM and Bluetooth connectivity with app support.

The Hero Electric AE-47 is powered by a 4kW electric hub motor. Hero claims that the motorcycle can accelerate from 0-60 kmph in 9 seconds and has a top speed of 85 kmph. The motorcycle has a removable 3.5kWh lithium-ion battery. The claimed range is 165 km in Eco mode and 85 km in Power mode. The battery can be fully charged in four hours.

The AE-47 will be launched later this year. It is expected to be priced in the region of Rs 1 lakh, which is almost the same price as its competitor, the Revolt RV 400.

Tork T6X

Tork Motors, which received investment from Ratan Tata last year, is now working on the Tork T6X e-bike for the Indian market. The bike is expected to be launched in the coming months. Emflux Motors is a Bengaluru-based startup founded in 2016. It is India’s first electric superbike company and its first product is called Emflux One, a fully faired electric performance motorcycle.

The company claims that it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3 seconds and is capable of a top speed of 200 km/h. The Emflux One is powered by a liquid-cooled AC induction motor coupled to a Samsung lithium-ion battery. The electric motor generates a peak power of 72 hp and a maximum torque of 84 Nm. The bike has a claimed range of 200 km and the battery can be charged up to 80 percent in over half an hour using fast charging technology.

Emflux One has many technological features such as GPS navigation system with 6.8-inch TFT display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and real-time self-diagnosis. The bike comes with a mobile app for remote setup as well as bike-to-bike connectivity. Built on a tubular steel frame, the bike rides on 43mm USD front forks (upgradable to Ohlins Race and Track USD forks) and a gas-filled monoshock unit in the rear (upgradable to 46mm Gas Shock Ohlins monotube). It stops with 300mm dual-disc brakes up front and a 220mm disc at the rear.

The bike also has a two-channel ABS system and regenerative braking as standard. The 17-inch wheels are shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso II radial tires measuring 120 at the front and 180 at the rear. While Emflux showcased the bike at the 2018 Auto Expo, it is not known when the brand will launch the production bike.

Ultraviolette F77

The Ultraviolet F77 was introduced in India about two years ago, but is yet to go on sale. Fortunately, it is in the final stages of testing and the electric motorcycle is expected to go into production before mid-2022.
