MG Comet EV Launched in India Price of 7.98 Lakh

The Comet EV has been recently launched by MG Motors in India, and it comes with an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹7.98 lacks. This car has a compact design and is intended for use within city limits.

Test drives for the vehicle are available starting from April 27, with bookings opening up from May 15.

The Comet EV is based on the Wuling Air EV and comes with a boxy design featuring a full-width LED light bar called the Extended Horizon connecting lights.

There is also a strip of chrome and piano black that connects the wing mirrors. The car’s charging port is located at the front, beneath the light bar, and the vehicle is equipped with 12-inch alloy wheels. It is available in five colors with multiple graphics packs categorized under sticker styles and lit packs.

The Comet EV will have the same battery pack options as the Wuling Air EV, It has a 17.3kWh prismatic cell battery that offers a claimed range of 230kms. It also has an IP67-rated battery which can provide resistance to water and dust.

The electric vehicle mentioned is not only affordable but also has one of the lowest charging costs in India, at only Rs. 519 to cover a distance of 1000 km.

MG Motor India has launched its smart electric vehicle, the MG Comet EV, which represents a new era in urban mobility solutions for India.

The vehicle, which is based on the GSEV platform, has a minimalistic yet spacious design and is the second electric vehicle in MG Motor India’s lineup.

The Comet EV is equipped with several smart features and is available at a special introductory price of Rs 7,98,000 (ex-showroom).

According to MG Motor India, the Comet EV can travel around 230 km on a single charge, thanks to its 17.3 kWh Li-ion battery with prismatic cells.

The battery has undergone 39 safety tests for longer cycle life and is IP67-rated, meaning that it is highly resistant to water and dust. The Smart EV also features active and passive safety features such as dual front airbags, ABS+EBD, front, and rear 3 pt.
